Little Gods – Chapter 10

“You’re doing it on purpose…”

One day, after a day’s work, Su Qiong headed home.

Working at the hotel was not tiring at all. His supervisor really took care of him. To earn his salary, Su Qiong had to vie for jobs to do there.

When Su Qiong got home, he saw Lin Fu just as he was opening up an express package.

These past few days, Lin Fu had added many things to Su Qiong’s home in rapid succession: a hot water heater, an air conditioner, a refrigerator, a microwave, and even a computer that was going to be thrown away by the company.

With the excuse that these things were for convenience and an awe-inspiring sense of righteousness, Lin Fu also got a key to Su Qiong’s apartment. He could enter anytime he wanted, almost like he’d moved in…

To set the scene for his eventual moving in, Lin Fu quite suggestively bought two new pillows and placed them at the head of the bed.

“I-I sleep by myself…” Su Qiong flushed as he stammered in half expectation and half refusal.

“I know,” Lin Fu revealed a sly smile, “It’s easy for the things you use every day to wear out. This is a spare.”

Extremely crafty…

No wonder he’d been the president of a company for so many years.

Su Qiong put on his new slippers and called quietly: “I’m back.”

Lin Fu answered warmly, a smile on his face.

The simple feeling of a husband and wife passing the days together…the little God of Poverty sank into the illusion happily.

Then, Lin Fu at last pulled a bag out of the paper carton. Inside was a lump of blue plastic. He wiped the sweat off his forehead, then took the plastic contraption and an air pump into the bathroom, saying with a naturalness of the utmost degree: “Babe, come look. I bought an inflatable bathtub.”

Su Qiong’s heartbeat raced crazily; he had not understood anything said after the first word.

“Now you can take a bath.” The eminent Director Lin bent at the waist to pump air into the bathtub. He rolled up his sleeves, the dirt on the express package staining the edge of his shirt. Sweat dotted his brow, and he smiled with a mouth full of white teeth, a vision like that of the diligent working class, “It was very cheap, 140 bucks with shipping included. It definitely won’t break.”

“Mm.” Su Qiong’s eyes sparkled, “I wanted to ask…”

“Are you tired after getting off work?” Lin Fu purposefully changed the subject and appreciated the anticipation and bashfulness on Su Qiong’s little face.

“No, I’m not tired.” Su Qiong shook his head, then said hesitantly, “Just now, you…”

“It’s done.” The black-bellied director changed the subject again, “I’ll fill it with hot water so you can give it a try.”

Su Qiong had not been very anxious before, but after Lin Fu interrupted him twice, Su Qiong felt like a kitten was scratching at his heart. And so, he impatiently walked in front of Lin Fu, crouched to where he was level with his eyes, took a deep breath, then said: “Just now, you called me…”

“No leaks, no distortions.” Lin Fu snapped his fingers and said excitedly, “Go grab some pajamas and take a bath.”

Su Qiong whispered: “You’re doing it on purpose…”

Lin Fu wore an innocent expression: “Hmm?”

Su Qiong stared at him, eyes narrowed.

After a few seconds of silence, Lin Fu could not take it anymore. He let out a laugh, his deep voice reverberating around the bathroom, the smile within it becoming all the more clear.

Su Qiong glared at him, fuming with anger: “…”

Lin Fu likewise lowered his eyes and returned his gaze. His dark eyes deepened, his lips curled upward, and he said softly: “Babe.”

Blood rushed to Su Qiong’s head. He dizzily allowed those two syllables to play over and over in his mind.

“Can I call you that?” Lin Fu drew closer, their noses almost touching, his gaze deep and absorbed, “Or little cutie?”

“Both are fine…” Su Qiong sat on the ground, lowering his head shyly and burying his little face, by now as pink as the petals of a peach blossom, in his knees. He could not get up.

Seems he was teased too much…Lin Fu silently withdrew his hand.

The plan to ‘act smooth and give him a kiss’ was aborted.

The inflated bathtub was filled with hot water, and with Lin Fu’s cordial invitation, Su Qiong swiftly closed the door, disrobed, and lay down in the bathtub.

He disrobed very quickly; ten seconds had not even passed before he had finished.

So at the eleventh second, when Lin Fu opened the door, Su Qiong’s entire body was already in the bathtub. Hearing the knock at the door, Su Qiong had immediately pulled up his legs and shrank into a ball. All of the important bits were covered by his arms and legs.

The rather disappointed, dishonorable Director Lin: “…”

“Is there something wrong?” Su Qiong uneasily curled up in the bathtub.

Lin Fu’s gaze hungry gaze swept over Su Qiong’s clean, bare arms and legs before resting on his beautiful collarbone and indistinctly visible chest. He shook the small bottle in his hand: “I brought you some bath salts. Give it a try.”

“Okay.” Su Qiong smiled simply and adorably, reaching out a hand to take the little bottle.

Lin Fu silently strode forward and lowered his eyes.

Su Qiong did not take the little bottle. He flushed red and retracted his arm to cover himself, his thick eyelashes coated with the fine water vapor.

Lin Fu laughed, but stopped teasing him. He opened the bottle and dumped the contents into the bathtub, then crouched down until he was level with Su Qiong, saying warmly: “Comfortable?”
